FIELD TRIPS
Field Trip Program
Our program "History Alive!" is a great opportunity for students to learn about history while having fun!
A generous grant from Juan Young Trust funded the development of curriculum for our program and the hiring of a certified teacher, who will address specific content standards and benchmarks outlined by the Oregon Department of Education. Field trips at CBHCM include activities to engage the imagination and interest of young participants while teaching them about historical issues and helping them forge connections between the past and present.
Our field trips are tailored to three different grade groupings that address specific goals and content standards (see below).
Combining a field trip to the Cannon Beach History Center & Museum with a field trip to Haystack Rock would integrate the subjects of ecology, geology, and history into a fun and rich field trip experience. Call to find out the best way to combine these programs.
Field trips at CBHCM are offered most weekdays throughout the school year. Each trip lasts approximately 1.5 hours, including museum browsing. Schools should provide at least 3 adult helpers. The fee for the field trip is $40. Contact CBHCM Program Director to schedule a field trip. Hope to see you soon!
