NEW GALLERY OF CANNON BEACH HISTORICAL PHOTOS
The History Center is proud to have launced a new online gallery of historic Cannon Beach photos. Visit the gallery now!

CANNON BEACH HISTORY CENTER HAS AN HISTORIC MUSIC SERIES: ACOUSTIC FOLK!
The Cannon Beach History Center is pleased to offer a new historic music series: Acoustic Folk!, featuring a concert the last Saturday of every month.   Series shows are:

  • Feb 23 Kathryn Claire & Matthew Macdonald (folk duo, some Scottish music)
  • March 29 String of Pearls duo (swing/jazz)
  • April 26 Kinzel & Hyde (blues duo; phenomenal harmonica!)
  • The Cannon Beach Film Fest, May 31-June 1, will replace our May concert
  • June 28 Steve Cheseborough (renowned blues artist)

....with more to come! The History Center's lovely new classroom serves as a venue for the concerts, which run from 7:30-9:30 pm. Gourmet coffee is provided and all ages are welcome! All concerts at the Cannon Beach History Center (corner of Spruce & Sunset) from 7:30-9:30 PM; Tickets at the door, $5/adults, $2/kids. Come out and enjoy some musical fun from days gone by!

A show of art quilts by Kathy McNeil will be on display at the History Center until July 19th. Kathy is an internationally award winning textile artist from Washington State.

CBHS LAUNCHES HISTORICAL PLAQUE PROGRAM

If so, we invite you to participate in our Historial Plaque Program, aimed at highlighting historic structures within our community, and increasing public awareness of our historical heritage found in our buildings and sites. .NEW EXHIBITS
The History of Cannon Beach Artists: Exhibition 2007 will be on display at the Cannon Beach History Center through April 2008. The exhibit includes photos, articles, and ephemera, as well as works of art. It chronicles the story of Cannon Beach artists from the 1960s—the early “art colony” days—to the present, and includes art pieces from many different artists, ranging from Joe Police to Andrea Kosharek, current Director of the Cannon Beach Arts Association.

longhouseNew Addition to Permanent Exhibit: Native American Longhouse, furnished with replica artifacts crafted by Northwest Native American artisans. This exhibit is a full sensory experience, allowing visitors to enter a longhouse like those once occupied by residents of the Native American villages at No-Cost, on the shores of Ecola Creek, and Ma-ti, in Tolovana.
